Oshun can’t drag Afenifere’s name in the mud —Omisore

Senator Omisore

SENATOR Iyiola Omisore has condemned the actions and vituperations of Mr Wale Oshun, warning that him not to drag the name of Afenifere Group which was formed over 62 years ago by Sage, Obafemi Awolowo in the mud.
Omisore made the clarification in a statement over Oshun’s claim on reconciliation of Afenifere group, saying that he “lacks the moral justification to castigate Afenifere simply because the group has opened its door for genuine reconciliation to take place.”

Senator Omisore stated his inclusion in the reconciliation meeting of Afenifere was as a result of his contribution to the pan Yoruba socio -political  group. He recalled that Oshun need to be awake to recollect that “Senator Omisore way back in 1999 was a member of the National Caucus of Afenifere, a deputy governor in Osun State then was one of the rallying points of the pan -Yoruba group before the divisive politics that polarized the state was introduced?”
Omisore further stated that Oshun cannot claim to represent the interest of the same Yoruba race he laboured to work against. He said “The cries of marginalization by the Yoruba nation in the scheme of things in  Nigeria today was partly due to crass opportunism by Oshun and his paymasters who teamed up with a northerner to rob the Yoruba of the position of speaker of the House of Representatives  which was zoned to it by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). But Oshun leaders chose to support a northern PDP member against the south west member because of their over bloated ego to spite the Yoruba race they now claim to defend.
“There is only one Afenifere known to the Yoruba people under the leadership of our revered Papa Reuben Fasoranti and Oshun and his club of crumb eaters should not foist the stinking sensibilities on our people,” Omisore stated.
