The Governing Council of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State has appointed Mr. David Awoyemi and Mrs. Josephine Akeredolu as the new registrar and bursar of the institution respectively.
Awoyemi will also serve as the Secretary to Council of the University, according to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, on Monday.
Akeredolu’s appointment, he stated, would take immediate effect, while Awoyemi would resume duties on June 1.
Awoyemi, who joined OAU, Ile-Ife (then University of Ife) on the August 9, 1982 as an Administrative Officer II, was, until his appointment, the Director, Academic Affairs of the institution.
He worked in all the units of the registry of OAU and rose to become the director in charge of academic affairs in 2008.
Born on January 23, 1959 in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Awoyemi attended Osogbo Grammar School between 1970 and 1974 before proceeding to OAU for his first degree in Philosophy.
