In Acts 3:6, the Bible says, "Then Peter said, silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." While, Acts 20:35 says, "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." This implies that every individual have been challenged to give generously. The traditional rulers and the political leaders are not left out. It is a collective responsibility of all Ile-Ife indigene and well-wishers to give towards the development of Ile-Ife Township for a better future.
We must not forget that giving precedes receiving; hence you must give before you take. Some people do not receive because they are not good givers. Every good giver is a good receiver. Give the money in your Bank Account and your personality to develop Ile-Ife. God is concerned about what you have done with the love and the life that He has given you. Also, think of how much of the light of Jesus Christ in you that is shining on others? Success is neither about money nor how popular you are in society. Rather, it is the ability to put that which the Lord has given you to work, so that others may benefit from it. Begin to think of what you can give to your town and individual. Many graduates from higher schools are jobless; while many workers have just been retrenched. No meaningful Industry and Company in Ile-Ife. What we can boast of as Industry is Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Thank God for the life of Proprietors of Private Schools who have complemented the efforts of Government as employer of labour. The existence of Private Schools has reduced the size of unemployment in Ile-Ife and Nigeria as a whole. I enjoin the well-meaning people of Ile-Ife to provide job through creation of Industries. It is time to invite all Ile-Ife indigene in Nigeria and abroad to come back home to re-build our town in a way that it will command respect among other towns around. I implore all the indigene to hold to the name and power of God for protection. For the Bible says, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." (Isaiah 54:17) Do not be discouraged but be courageous and determined to promote the good image of Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba Land. Do not forget that death shall come without notice; while your riches and wealth cannot stop it. Let us rise and lift up Ile-Ife; because tomorrow may be too late.
