Ooni expresses confidence in OAUTH’s board

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has expressed satisfaction on the ability of the chairman of the governing board of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Mr Matthew Urhoghide, to deliver world-class medical services at the teaching hospital.
Oba Sijuwade, who expressed the satisfaction when the members of the governing board paid him a visit in his palace, said he would reach out to President Goodluck Jonathan to commend him for appointing Mr Urhoghide as chairman of the governing board of the teaching hospital, adding that he had researched the background of the new chairman and found out that he had immense experience,  knowledge, pedigree and proper attitude that would help the hospital to achieve its goals.
While expressing satisfaction with the quality and number of physical structures and services rendered by the hospital, Urhoghide said that more would be done in the areas of internally generated revenue, public awareness for the excellent medical services provided by the hospital and blocking all areas that encouraged wastefulness, fund drains, unethical practices, underutilisation of assets and under-optimisation of abilities.
Mr Urhoghide, who was enthused by the Kidney Transplant and Dialysis Building of the hospital, said the department was adequately staffed with qualified consultants and paramedics who, together, had performed two successful kidney transplants in the first half of 2013 at comparatively more patient-friendly prices.
