Residents of Esuyare-Olojede area, Ile-Ife in Ife East Local Government Area of Osun State have called on the state government to repair their dilapidated road.
Speaking with Community News, Mr. Isaac Olojede, a leader in the community said several letters had been written to the former and present chairmen of the local government, Mr Rasaki Atitebi and Mr Wale Adebayo, respectively, but without positive result.
He said the road had become a major concern for the people living in the area because of its bad state.
One of the residents, Mr Awolola Olayemi, explained that several measures had been taken by the people of the community to make the road motorable.
He explained how the community contributed money, but that the money contributed was not sufficient for the project.
He also said that they had at another time sandfilled the bad portion on the road on many occasions, saying “inspite of all these, it washed away during downpour.
Also speaking with Community News, Mrs. Adedupe Goriola complained that the bad state of the road was negatively affecting business in the area, ading that potential customers had refused to come to purchase their needs because of the bad road.
They appealed both to Ife East Local governmentt and the state government to come to their rescue by repairing the road.
