Court dissolves 21-year-old marriage

An Ile-Ife Customary Court on Friday dissolved a 21-year-old marriage between Olusola and Kehinde Aribaba, over fetish act and threat to life.
Olusola, had on July 27, dragged his wife before the court for her fetish acts, threat to life, uncooperative attitude, and lack of care.
He also accused his wife, who works as an administrative officer at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC), of always fighting.

The plaintiff, who had re-married, vowed not to have any relationship with his wife again.
Olusola told the court that the union between him and his former wife was a mere association and was blessed with four children, one of which died.
However, Kehinde denied all the allegations leveled against her, saying that the plaintiff had always sought for an excuse to leave her, in spite of all she had done for him.
The President of the Court, Mrs Gani Awoyera, said that efforts to reconcile the couple had proved futile, as the plaintiff admitted in court.
Awoyera dissolved the union and directed the parties to be jointly responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the remaining three children. (NAN)
