Entrepreneurship is turning your passion to business —Koledoye

Adekunle Koledoye, a graduate of Microbiology from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Creative Director of Kratozia, a technology outfit based in Ile Ife, Osun State, which specialises in business development through branding, speaks about the passion that led him into entrepreneurship.
What does Kratozia mean?

Kratozia is a Greek word which means state of absolute power.

And what does the company do?
Ours is a creative technology clan that helps businesses to create best experiences for their audience, clients and proposed clients. We are actually living by a principle that we focus on start up businesses and, SMEs. We help brand small businesses and we also help already branded companies spread their reach wider. Part of what we do is we help create “killing visuals” that make already existing clients glued to them, yet attracting new clients.

By creative technology clan, you mean?
By that, I meant that we are a family of different names but with same surname. The company comprises of a photography section, web designing and monitoring, graphics designing, creative visuals and branding and we generally use technology to achieve our end result of helping businesses grow.

How old is this company?
This company was born around June last year and I will say since then, we have been enjoying significant progress that comes with starting this kind of business. We have wide spread   across Nigeria as we are not hindered by geographical location, and we get jobs from across Nigeria.

What inspired you into this line of business?
Well, first of all, it is the passion. Like I always say,  “figure out what you’re passionate about and turn it into a business”. Then, the natural zeal to be better than yesterday also urges me further to want to do more of branding and killing visuals. My mentors, people like Steve Jobs, Kelechi Amadi and Leke Alder, have also served as inspiration to me.
Wanting to improve upon what they have done, pushes me a great deal in accomplishing more in this line of business.

Have you encountered any challenges along the way?
Hmm, the down moments are always when you finish a job for a particular company and you are being tossed around before you get your pay.

What about the ups?
Our major return in Kratozia is seeing our clients’ customers’ database increasing daily. This always pushes us to do more for them.

Suppose someone wants to go into your line of business, how much does he need to start?
Well, an upcoming creative technologist can start up with a personal computer, loan from their parents or other family members. In my case, it was my mother, who is my hero, who loaned me N95, 000 to buy my laptop and get my business started. Invariably, I mean an upcoming visual technologist needs only a laptop to start his business.

Advice to would be entrepreneurs out there?
They should keep on doing what they know best and stay focused. They should never let their university degree grade, lack of capital or any other obstacle stop or limit them from achieving their dreams. If you’re focused and you work hard, then you are beyond your limits.
