NANS Vows To Disrupt OAU Post-UTME Test

National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS South-west zone (Zone D) has vowed to disrupt this weekend’s Post-UTME screening exercise at the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-ife, Osun State.
NANS disclosed that the proposed action is in response to the institution’s refusal to reduce the current school fees and for also shutting down academic activities which has kept all her members from the university at home.

P.M.NEWS Campus Square gathered that the decision of NANS concerning the school fees hike crisis on OAU campus was discussed at the NANS convention which was held recently at the Polytechnic, Ibadan.
It was at the convention that they set up an Action Committee which will ensure their decisions will be effective.
NANS Zone D Coordinator, Comrade Asefon Sunday, said in a statement that the OAU post UTME test might not hold if the university management refuses to call back the students and meet their demands.
“NANS Zone D is very committed to ensuring that our members are well treated. In lieu of this, the forthcoming OAU post UTME test might be hampered if the. Test university management remains adamant on calling back our members to campus as at when due,” the statement read in part .
Another member of NANS,  Sanyaolu Olajuwon, told our correspondent that NANS Zone D has perfected plans to ensure that OAU management resolves the crisis on campus otherwise the exercise will not hold.
The 400 Level Microbiology student said: “NANS Zone D is ready to take a bold step to implement her decision concerning the school fees hike on Great Ife campus and the refusal of the university management to comply with the students’ requests might have a dire effect on the forthcoming post UTME test.”
A letter was reportedly sent to OAU management regarding NANS’ proposed action if the institution fails to comply with the demands of their members.
