The Osun State police command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Yusuf Salahudeen, and his accomplice, Lukman Adeyemi for their alleged involvement in the burning of a pharmaceutical company known as Ebenco, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, said another suspect, Sunday Adebayo, died in the inferno when they could not manage the wildfire.
It was gathered that the suspects wanted to steal money from the pharmaceutical company said to belong to Adebayo’s uncle and went to the building with petrol, setting it ablaze.
Adeoye told City News that it was a case of arson and stealing. He said one of the suspects was arrested at Oke Onitea area of Osogbo, with fire burns on his body.
He noted that the suspects had confessed to the crime, while the matter was still being investigated.
